Nişo's Flute tells the moving story of two artists, Nishan Dikran (Master Nişo), an Armenian craftsman of wind instruments who returns to Diyarbakir after surviving the Armenian Genocide, and Zülfü Yokuş (Zilfo), a renowned Kurdish kaval player.
The screening will be followed by a presentation by Ara Dinkjian and a Q&A session with Sedat Kiran, who will join via Zoom from Turkey and Murat Nişan (Master Nişo son). Ayda Erbal (New York University) will moderate the discussion. The film is in Turkish and Kurdish with English subtitles and a run time of 61 minutes. A reception will follow the discussion.
