The North Jersey Armenian communities will have the chance to view The Cost of Water and meet documentary filmmakers Tehmine Yenokyan and Vahe Ohanyan on Sunday, June 9 and Monday, June 10 at St. Vartan Cathedral and St. Leon Armenian Church, respectively.

The film is in Armenian with English subtitles. The Q & A session with the filmmakers will be bilingual.

The Cost of Water is an investigative documentary that has garnered significant attention for its exploration of Armenia’s growing water crisis and its far-reaching impacts.

The film explores the multifaceted causes and impacts of this depletion, including poor water management, non-transparent government practices, and the effects of climate change. The situation is further complicated by the aftermath of the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh war and Azerbaijan's intrusion into Armenian territories.

The documentary shows how these issues have reshaped Armenia's water security architecture, leaving communities struggling with a scarcity of drinking and irrigation water.
