Papers presented at the conference The Armenians of New England: Celebrating a Culture and Preserving a Heritage, held in April 1999. This conference the first to undertake the study of an Armenian community of North America. As both the oldest and still one of the largest and most vibrant Armenian communities in the New World, the culture and heritage of the Armenians of New England is ripe for exploration. The conference and these proceedings were not intended as an end in themselves, but rather a beginning.
