STRANGE DREAMS, THE
By Vartan Sarkis Chekijian
The Strange Dreams is a drama based on a number of biblical parables, including the story of Jesus Christ. It is the account of the psychological deterioration of a king whose power and authority bring grief and sorrow to those closest to him.
The author has cleverly interpreted some biblical fables which are still relevant for the 20th century readers, in light of political and social situations and problems that exist today. The reader is reminded that even a king must answer to a higher, more powerful omnipotent force, an intangible source that often reveals itself in dreams.
Vartan Chekijian has retold the story of the struggle for power and love in a very different way, using a setting in ancient history that enables the reader to gain new perspective on an old but contemporary problem.
