DAUGHTERS OF MEMORY

Regular price $ 14.95 $ 0.00

By Peter Najarian

Daughters of Memory is an unusual and interwoven work that explores large themes involving the terror of history and a search to redeem it. It is narrated by an artist who is obsessed with a female figure that evolves from a primal form inside him, and behind her unfolds the dark history of the Armenian Massacre which he personalizes in the figure of his grandmother, a young peasant farmer who was killed in the desert. The story moves from her to the great madonnas of world art, and along the way there is a chorus of old survivors who gossip like the Fates about life in America and the days gone by.
