PENANCE: The Sacrament of Saying I'm Sorry

Undoubtedly, two of the most difficult sentences in any language are: "I'm wrong. I'm sorry." There seems to be something in each of us that tries to prevent us from saying and meaning these two sentences. As a result of this seeming inability, we see nation, making war upon nation, people fighting people, families being broken up, careers destroyed, and lives ruined - all resulting from the hesitancy or unwillingness to say: "I'm wrong. I'm sorry."
