This is  the re-publication of Journey to Ararat which was prepared with a new critical introduction, maps, and appendix by Pietro A. Shakarian.  This massive work is an account of the first ascent of Mount Ararat by the German scholar and mountaineer Friedrich Parrot (University of Dorpat) and the great Armenian writer and national hero Khachatur Abovian in 1829.

This 2016 edition also includes rare historical documents from Estonia and Armenia related to Parrot’s expedition.
