Denial is one of the stages of genocide. For over a century, some have continued to deny, distort, or misrepresnt details of the Armenian Genocide. The first-hand audiovisual testimonies in IWitness (and elsewhere) document the human impact of the Genocide and the experiences of its survivors and witnesses. These oral histories are primary source material that serve to counter the narratives of Genocide deniers and those who distort history and a valuable resources for educators, students, and the general public who want to develop their knowledge and critical literacy.

In this webinar, educators will learn about the impact of genocide denial and distortion on Armenian Genocide education as well as strategies on how to integrate testimony into the classroom to develop students' agency and resilience to misinformtaion.
