In this presentation, Ani Babaian talked about S. Amenaprkich Vank’s murals —the artistic styles, the artists, the projects to conserve the murals, and new findings discovered during the conservation process.

The boundaries between the Iranian and Armenian worlds were porous in many ways. The Armenian presence in Iran is attested from the Achaemenid centuries to the present. Although the Armenian Iranian community has decreased significantly since the nineteenth century, it still constitutes the most significant Christian element in Iran, finding means to preserve in large measure its religion, language, and traditions and to navigate between Armenian and Iranian identities.

An all-star panel of librarians and specialists on Armenian collections - including those at the US Library of Congress, the Nubarian Library in Paris, the NAASR Mardigian Library in Belmont, Massachusetts, and the Armenian Institute in London - discuss the issues Armenian libraries and museums face now and into the future.
