Jacques Kayaloff was born in Makhichevan, October 12, 1898, studied in Moscow and served in the Armenian Army in 1918 and in 1920. In 1921 he went to Paris and joined a French grain firm which sent him to New York in Januart, 1924. Since his retirement from active business life, Kayaloff started to collect material for his books: Afro's World (1972); The Battle of Sardarabad (1973); The Fall of Baku (1976), and for articles which appeared in English, French, Russian, and Armenian magazines.
