TEXTS AND CONCORDANCES OF THE ARMENIAN ADAM LITERATURE

Vol. I: Genesis 1-4, Penitence of Adam, Book of Adam - A rich source book for researchers and Biblical scholars. The text is in Armenian, with the explanation of how the text is organized in English.
Part I of this book contains the text and concordance of Genesis 1-4, drawn from the critical edition of the Armenian version of Genesis edited by Antranik Zeyt'unian and transcribed without critical apparatus. Part II of this book contains the text and concordance of Penitence of Adam, based on the author's edition of Penitence of Adam published in the series Corpus Scriptorum Chrisianorum Orientalium.
Part III of this book contains the text and concordance of Book of Adam. The text is based on the edition of Yovsep'ianc' published in 1989, which is divided in to chapters and verses following the divisions of Apocalypse of Moses, an Armenian translation of the Greek text. Yovsep'ianc' edited the Book of Adam from three manuscripts.
This 1996 volume represents the first published results of a research project carried out under a grant from the Israel Science Foundation, enabling the implementation of the Leiden-Jerusalem Armenian Data Base (LJDAB).
