This book traces the history of the Armenian Apostolic Church in the United States, from its beginnings in 1888 to 1948. The Armenian immigrants passionately clung to their cultural heritage, to their ancient church, and to a language that was hardly known or heard in their adopted country. Gradually, Armenians became part of America, and their church up to this time intensely nationalistic, contributed to the slowly took on a different aspect. Maintaining its identity, the Church contributed to becoming part of the social, cultural, and religious life of America.
