This is the companion book to the exhibition Art Treasures of Turkey, which ran 1966-1968. Many cultures have flourished in Anatolia since the Neolithic Age, and each has left lasting evidence of its accomplishments in the objects fashioned by its artists and craftsmen. The treasures from the rich and varied past of the land that is no the Republic of Turkey offer a unique summary of much of the history world civilization. This volume is the permanent record of an exhibition of almost 300 of these objects.
