“The last few decades of this century have experienced renewed interest in the critical study of the Armenian version of the Bible, the establishment of an improved textual basis and more detailed examination of its textual affinities and value as a witness to Scripture. This book developed out of that process. It presents the results of a doctoral thesis, subsequently revised and expanded, partly with the needs of the non-specialist reader in mind. Both the introduction and general conclusion seek to contextualize the discussion within wider parameters of biblical translation.
