RINGING THE GOTCHNAG: Two American Missionary Families in Turkey, 1855-1922

Regular price $ 89.95 $ 0.00

By Jonathan Conant Page, Foreword by Peter J. Gomes

Ringing the Gotchnag tells the tale of two American missionary families, the Allens and the Wheelers, who served in the Ottoman Empire between 1855 and 1922 under the auspices of the American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions, the oldest such organization in the United States. During the declining days of the Ottoman Empire, stretching from the Crimean War into World War I and the Armenian genocide the Allens and Wheelers did their best to live out their faith in a foreign land.
