The First World Congress of Armenian Engineers, Scientists, and Industrialists, held in Los Angeles, California, on August 3-5, 1989, was an unprecedented event by its nature and scope. For the first time in history, over 250 distinguished scientists, engineers, and industrialists of Armenian descent from around the world gathered together to share their accomplishments, concerns, and hopes for the future of the Armenian nation. In technical sessions, panel discussions, and workshops, issues of contemporary science and technology were discussed by participants from Armenia, Australia, Belgium, Canada, France, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United States
