The idea of the “Crafts of Armenia” book came when the writer visited Armenia in February of 2000. At the weekend street market that is called Vernisage, many crafts artists displayed wonderful items they had made in clay , wood, fiber and metal. While the quality of work was good, the method of marketing left much to be desired. During this time, an idea began to form for a book that would present Armenian crafts to a wider audience.
