Dr. Zaruhi Hakobyan’s seminar explores shared Armenian–Byzantine artistic traditions through case studies on St. Thecla imagery, the Gospel of Queen Mlk’e, and altar sculpture, building on themes from her lecture.

Dr. Zaruhi Hakobyan’s lecture examines the cultural legacy of the Orthodox (Chalcedonian) Armenian community, introducing themes that will continue in her December 6 seminar on Armenian–Byzantine artistic traditions.

In this webinar, Dr. Vahan Ter-Ghevondian, the Director of the Matenadaran/Mesrop Mashtots Institute of Ancient Manuscripts, will present the recent Matenadaran publication Manuscript Heritage of Artsakh and Utik, co-authored by Dr. Hravard Hakobyan, Dr. Tamara Minasyan, and Dr. Vahe Torosyan. The publication was made possible by a grant from the Lawrence Terzian Fund of the AGBU within the framework of the AGBU Artsakh Research Grants.

In this webinar, the Matenadaran’s Sona Baloyan will provide an illustrated introduction to the institution, showcasing not only what may be seen by visitors but also providing a look behind the scenes at this remarkable center of scholarship and preservation.
