SISTER KEEPERS

Regular price $ 10.95 $ 0.00

by Marian Jones

Around the top frame of the old State Teacher's College classroom chalk board runs the Spanish proverb, "Since we do not receive what we want from life, we must learn to love what we get."

In 1917, six young women form an "eat lunch elegantly while studying Spanish" club that expands into the school's first sorority and keeps going for seventy-five years in spite of scandals, tragedies, a husband-snatching "sister", homicide, two world wars, the dreadful Armenian Genocide of 1916 and its effect fifty years later on two of the "sisters."
