CURRENT OPPORTUNITIES

Part-Time Bookstore Coordinator

Location: Belmont, MA
The position will remain open to applications until it is filled.

NAASR is conducting a search for a candidate who meets the qualifications and has the capabilities to satisfy the job responsibilities as a part-time Bookstore Coordinator (10-15 hours/week) at our headquarters in Belmont, Massachusetts.

Position Overview
Under the Executive Director’s supervision, performs a variety of shipping/receiving, pricing, stocking and other retail sales activities for NAASR’s bookstore; maintains the accuracy of inventory; creates and processes the purchase orders; performs customer services such as refunds, charges, selling and other customer assistance; and performs related work as required.

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Manages NAASR bookstore onsite and online, including:
    • fulfilling book orders,
    • managing inventory,
    • initiating purchase orders,
    • negotiating prices with various vendors/publishers,
    • posting books online through Amazon and NAASR’s website,
    • updating cloud-hosted programs to synchronize inventory and post to Quick Books
    • mailing books to customers
  • Submits to the Executive Director a weekly or semi-monthly (every 2 weeks) a list of recommended purchases/orders.
  • Develop marketing materials for the bookstore promotion including monthly thematic book highlights.
  • Works with NAASR staff to determine books order.
  • Assists bookstore customers and visitors on-site and online.
  • Assists with book sales during weekends and evenings approximately two to three times per month.
  • Responds to any other inquiries and reports as requested.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS Degree – required
  • Expert level skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel
  • Mastery of internet-based programs for retail specifically Shopify
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and to sustain focus
  • Professional demeanor and excellence in communication, organizational time-management, prioritization of workload, and interpersonal skills
  • Professional responsiveness and adaptability to rapid change
  • Ability to work with limited supervision but seek supervision when needed
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, and work collaboratively as a team
  • Maintain confidential and sensitive written and oral information
  • Frequent lifting, occasional reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders
